Over 600,000 meals are served annually to seniors.

OVERVIEW
Oldtimers Foundation has been at the forefront of nutrition services for over 30 years. In both San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties, our central kitchens prepare over 1500 meals per day, which are then delivered to one of our 22 congregate sites or directly to the homes of our homebound seniors. All seniors age 60 and above are eligible for the program regardless of income. A donation per meal is suggested, but is completely anonymous and voluntary. No one is ever turned away for lack of funds. We strive to remain innovative in order to meet the growing and changing demands of our aging community. We offer vegetarian meal options at our sites in Loma Linda (M-F) and Artesia (Wednesdays only). In the City of Artesia, our vegetarian option was the result of a comprehensive collaboration to include culturally appropriate meals to the emerging South Asian senior population in the community. Although still rather small, the new program has made a significant impact on the livelihood of seniors whose needs were previously unmet. At each of our sites and in each of our routes, our staff works diligently to foster a warm and welcoming environment and to deliver meals in an efficient and caring manner. In addition to our Senior Nutrition Program, Oldtimers Foundation also provides over 200 lunches per day to school age children in the City of South Gate and Cudahy. Meals are provided during the summer months when school is not in session. We recognize that proper nutrition is an integral part of preventative care and we aspire to provide cost effective meals that are healthy, appetizing, and properly handled.

HOME DELIVERED MEALS
Oldtimers Foundation provides home delivered meals to seniors who are homebound as a result of an illness or a disability. In our LA County program, we delivered meals to almost 900 individuals who were not able to provide meals for themselves. This reflects an increase of more than 20% from the year prior. Our services enable seniors to live independently in their homes and out of institutionalized care. We operate both hot and frozen delivery routes throughout the Southeast Los Angeles and northwest San Bernardino Counties. Our staff members not only provide a nutritiously balanced meal, but also seek to address other underlying needs of our seniors through regular telephone and in-home assessments. Consequently assessments are crucial in identifying needs for referrals and additional assistance. In many cases, our staff members are the only interaction some seniors have outside of their homes. Along with the gratitude we receive for providing nutritious, home cooked meals, we are often thanked for the staff we employ.
